About the Role

This is an initial 3-month contract opportunity with a strong possibility of extension. Due to the nature of our work, consistent availability during regular business hours is essential. Hours per week will fluctuate based on the amount of work available, we anticipate a minimum of 20 hours per week.  

About You

As a UI/UX designer at Convverge, you will be responsible for designing intuitive user interfaces and engaging user experiences for our customer-facing solutions, including SharePoint, Power BI, custom applications, and other internal and external communication platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our designs meet user needs and align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

UI/UX Design:

  • Facilitating design thinking, think big, user journey and other design-oriented workshops to elicit user experience and design requirements from clients.
  • Create user-centered designs for web applications and platforms, ensuring an optimal user experience while adhering to client brand standards.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups that effectively communicate design ideas, while staying within the framework of the chosen technology.
  • Develop and document design principles and standards for Convverge to adhere to.

SharePoint Design:

  • Work alongside Convverge’s Modern Work and Project Management teams to lead customers through the ideation process and provide designs for user-friendly SharePoint sites.
  • Design SharePoint navigation to meet specific user and business requirements.
  • Work with Convverge project teams to design custom webparts for SharePoint.

Power BI Visuals:

  • Create compelling and informative Power BI dashboards and reports that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to understand user needs and design visuals that effectively communicate insights.

Internal & External Communications:

  • Design engaging materials for internal and external marketing communications, including social media graphics, presentations, reports, newsletters, and updates to company SharePoint Intranet (HIVVE).
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all communication platforms.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical capabilities.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
Qualifications and Experiences
  • Professional experience: UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work, including multiple projects.
  • Design tools: Professional experience in Figma and other tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.
  • Accessibility standards: Strong knowledge of best practices in UI/UX design.
  • Dashboard creation: Experience with SharePoint and Power BI, including customization.
  • User research: Strong understanding of methodologies and usability testing.
  • Communication skills: Excellent ability to present and justify design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Work environment: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Agile methodologies: Familiarity with Agile and project management tools.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
