Convverge Welcomes Michael (Mike) Deschambault, Senior Data Analytics Consultant
We’re excited to introduce Mike Deschambault, who recently joined Convverge as a Senior Data Analytics Consultant! With over 15 years of experience in data and analytics, Mike brings a passion for turning raw data into meaningful insights that improve processes and make life easier for clients.
Mike’s journey in IT began with a keen interest and natural inclination toward technology. After formal training in the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Computer Technology program, he further advanced his career with courses in business intelligence at the University of Calgary. Over the years, he honed his skills in data warehousing, analytics, and solution development, earning certifications like the SnowPro Core Certification in Snowflake Development & Administration.
For Mike, data is more than a string of numbers and letters—it’s a way to help people. “I really enjoy the customer service aspects of building and delivering solutions,” Mike shares. “Turning data into insights that clients can leverage to improve their operations is incredibly rewarding.” His ability to connect technical solutions to real-world business problems makes him a valuable addition to the Convverge team.
Mike was drawn to Convverge for the team’s collaborative spirit and diverse skillset. “The team dynamics are amazing,” Mike says.
Everyone offers expertise in different areas—modern workplace, data warehousing and analytics, the Power Platform—and together, we provide clients with a range of solutions.
As he gets settled into his new role, he’s eager to add his strengths in data analysis to the mix and help clients uncover insights that drive meaningful improvements in their businesses.
Mike’s passion for tech doesn’t stop at work. At home, he loves staying on top of the latest hardware advancements and using his skills to build custom PCs for his family, from gaming machines for his kids to productivity systems for everyday use. But his interest doesn’t stop there—he’s used his knack for problem-solving to create network diagrams for his home network and automate his routines using Google tools, making daily tasks simpler for his family. “Finding ways to use technology in my personal life is something I really enjoy—it’s all about making life easier,” he explains.
And when he’s not diving into data or tinkering with technology, Mike has another hands-on hobby: building mountain bikes. “I really enjoy buying individual components and assembling bikes,” he says, showcasing his problem-solving mindset in yet another creative capacity.
Mike’s approach to life can be encapsulated by a few favourite quotes and philosophies. Whether it’s Wayne Gretzky’s “You miss every shot you don’t take” or Bill Gates’ concept to “Give a lazy person a hard job because they’ll find the easiest way to do it,” Mike values taking action and finding smart solutions. His goal as he steps into this role is clear: “Allocating time every week for professional development and certifications.” This focus on continuous learning ensures he’ll stay on top of things as the IT landscape continues to shift before our very eyes.
As someone who deeply values relationships, Mike says he resonates most with our company value of Caregiving, seeing parallels between the way he’s raised his children and led teams throughout his career. “Providing high levels of service helps others feel valued and appreciated, and that goes a long way,” he says. “Their success is my success.”
We’re excited to have Mike on board and can’t wait for you all to meet him, too. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome! You can say hello via email at michaeld@convverge.com.
