Mandy Adams on Her Approach to Creating Successful Customer Partnerships
At Convverge, we believe that the right people make all the difference, and that’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Mandy Adams, our Director of Sales and Business Development. With a background in communications and marketing (and as a proud University of Calgary alum), Mandy brings a fresh perspective to the technology sector—one rooted in relationship-building, problem-solving, and a deep interest in her customers’ needs.
“I’ve always loved collaborating with others, building relationships, and leading and coaching others to success,” she says. “When the opportunity arose to jump into the technology sector, I was eager to take my experience curating lasting and valuable relationships with customers and apply it in a whole new area.”
And that’s exactly what she’s doing at Convverge. Mandy is at the forefront of our mission to provide tailored technology solutions, ensuring our clients get the most out of their digital transformation journey.
The Convverge Culture: A Perfect Fit
Just over a year ago, Mandy joined the Convverge team on a mission to bolster our sales strategy and strengthen the way we connect with clients. “When I joined the team, I was so excited to work with the brilliant minds we have here,” she reflects.
“We come from so many different backgrounds and experiences, but everyone clearly demonstrates how much they care about the work we do and the customers we serve. It’s a great balance of work and play—especially when we hit our tenant lounge for some friendly competition around the pool and foosball tables!”
While it’s that mix of camaraderie and dedication that drew Mandy in, she’s always felt especially connected to Convverge’s core values, particularly Support Each Other and Create Successful Customers.
“These are so closely linked,” she explains. “In order to bring success to our customers, we must first equip our team with the support that enables them to do so.”
A Strategist at Heart
Mandy’s approach to sales and business development is anything but one-size-fits-all. “Taking the time to truly understand what drives a business is key,” she says. “What are you trying to accomplish? How will a new solution benefit your business and its employees? Our clients may experience similar challenges at times, but every business is unique.”
Her ability to listen deeply and craft tailored solutions sets her apart. It also ties back to one of her favorite quotes by Brené Brown:
Trust is earned in the smallest of moments. It is earned not through heroic deeds, or even highly visible actions, but through paying attention, listening, and gestures of genuine care and connection.
Mandy has also completed the Dare to Lead training program, inspired by Brené Brown’s work on courageous leadership. This training has strengthened her ability to foster trust, engage in meaningful conversations, and lead with authenticity—qualities that are instrumental in building strong client relationships and an empowered team.
The 5-9 After Her 9-5
Outside of work, Mandy’s curiosity and love for learning bleed into her everyday activities. When she’s not attending to the never-ending fur clean-up courtesy of her two fluffy huskies (Kano and Cedar), she loves to read, cook, and explore nature— hobbies that fuel her ability to stay engaged and innovative in her role.
“I’m naturally curious, so I love to absorb and truly listen to what challenges our customers are experiencing (or what opportunities they are seeing), and then be able to take that back to our team to build a right-sized solution.”
Since Mandy joined Convverge, she’s made a meaningful impact. Her goal then remains the same today: building new and strengthening existing customer relationships so that clients feel truly supported with Convverge as a trusted extension of their team.
