From Code to Cosmos: Meet Ahad Hamirani, Software Developer

Ahad Hamirani is the kind of developer who quietly raises the barโ€”on every project, every time.

A Software Developer at Convverge since 2022, Ahad is deeply embedded in our Power Platform team and known for his thoughtful approach to solving problems. Whether heโ€™s building internal tools, simplifying architecture, or mentoring newer team members, his focus is always the same: create something useful, scalable, and clean.

โ€œIโ€™ve always been drawn to the challenge of simplifying complexity,โ€ he says. โ€œWhether itโ€™s in system architecture or user experience, I love building reusable frameworks and components that improve speed, consistency, and maintainability.โ€

With a Computer Science degree (graduated with distinction) and certifications as both a Power Platform Developer Associate and Solution Architect, Ahad came to Convverge with a solid foundationโ€”but what really stood out was his appetite to learn, lead, and contribute in meaningful ways.

I joined Convverge because I wanted to stay hands-on with the tech, but also work somewhere that values doing things well. Here, thereโ€™s a real commitment to quality and an openness to new ideas.

Over the years, Ahad has become a go-to person for internal tools and reusable systems that save time across the board. One example? A Power Platform component library he built thatโ€™s now used across the dev team.

โ€œThose kinds of tools create ripple effects,โ€ he says, โ€œlike faster delivery, better consistency, and fewer headaches down the line.โ€

Outside of project work, Ahad is also known for his collaborative mindset and his commitment to mentoring others. Heโ€™s someone who doesnโ€™t just solve problems, but also helps others understand how to solve them.

And when heโ€™s not deep in development work? Youโ€™ll probably find him outdoors. Ahad stays active with all sorts of activities, like soccer and badminton, and keeps his strategic thinking sharp with chess. But one of his more unexpected hobbies is night photographyโ€”specifically, astrophotography.

โ€œIโ€™ve captured long-exposure shots of stars, northern lights, and even galaxies,โ€ he says. โ€œWhen conditions are right, you can find me out at places like Ghost Lake with my camera, trying to capture the beauty of the night sky.โ€ Itโ€™s these hobbies that keep Ahad balanced and ready to show up to work as his best self.

“Team sports have taught me a lot about collaboration, communication, and staying focused under pressure, all of which translate into my approach to working on projects,” he says.

“Chess helps me think a few moves ahead, a mindset that really helps in system design and problem-solving.”

Ahad is also active in the broader tech community, particularly in the Power Platform space. As a member of the Calgary Power Platform User Group, heโ€™s had the chance to share ideas, showcase projects, and connect with other developers. Long-term, he hopes to be a trusted voice in the ecosystemโ€”someone known for building and sharing tools that move the whole platform forward.

If you ask him about the philosophy that drives him, he keeps it simple:

“Nothing is Impossible.”

โ€œI donโ€™t like accepting limitations at face value, whether in a product, a problem, or a process. Iโ€™ve found that when you break things down and stay curious, thereโ€™s almost always a way forward. That philosophy has helped me push boundaries, especially in designing creative and scalable solutions within the Power Platform.โ€

As Convverge continues to grow, so does Ahadโ€™s impactโ€”as a developer, a mentor, and someone who makes things better simply by being involved. If you havenโ€™t had the pleasure of connecting with him yet, find him on LinkedIn here
